QUICK ANSWER

Performance Defined by Material and Process.

Pre-alloyed 90/10 bronze powder (Cu-10Sn) is water atomized bronze where every particle carries the complete alloy — no tin diffusion needed during sintering. It presses and sinters into structural bronze parts, filters, and bearings with uniform properties and tight dimensional control, complementing the Cu+Sn premix route (which grows during sintering) where precision matters.

Pre-alloying trades the premix route's sintering growth (useful for bearing porosity) for dimensional predictability: pre-alloyed bronze shrinks slightly and uniformly, so finished part dimensions track die dimensions closely — essential for structural parts with tolerances. The uniform alloy also gives consistent corrosion resistance and mechanical properties that premix parts (with their diffusion gradients) cannot match. Filter producers value the clean, uniform pore structures; structural PM producers value the repeatability.

APPLICATIONS

Developed for Demanding Industrial Applications.

01

Porous bronze filter production is a core application

Porous bronze filter production is a core application: pre-alloyed CuSn10 in controlled cuts sinters into filter elements and silencers with rated porosity (see also our spherical bronze filter grade in Category 12 for the premium route). The pre-alloyed chemistry gives pore structures and corrosion performance uniform through the element — important for fuel, hydraulic, and pneumatic filtration in aggressive service. Filter makers buy size cuts on certified distribution.

02

Structural bronze PM is the second market

Structural bronze PM is the second market: precision bushings, thrust washers, worm wheels, and corrosion-resistant hardware pressed to tight tolerances where the premix route's growth scatter is unacceptable. Marine and food-adjacent applications value the uniform lead-free composition; the grade also serves diamond tool bonds, friction materials, and decorative sintered bronze. Across these uses, buyers specify dimensional change per lot — the pre-alloyed route's signature advantage.

TECHNICAL FAQ

Technical Questions About This Grade.

Need a different chemistry, particle range, or processing route? Our material team can review the requirement and supply window.

When should I choose pre-alloyed over premix?

Whenever tolerances and property uniformity matter more than maximum porosity: precision structural parts, rated filters, corrosion-critical parts. For oil-impregnated bearings where pore volume is the product, the premix route (with our electrolytic copper + tin) remains standard.

What dimensional change should I design for?

Typically 0.5-1.5 percent shrinkage depending on density and sintering — we certify the value per lot at reference conditions so your die compensation stays valid across shipments.

Is the powder lead-free?

Yes — our standard CuSn10 contains no intentional lead and complies with RoHS and drinking-water-relevant requirements, certified per lot.

Can you supply filter-specific cuts?

Yes — narrow cuts matched to filtration ratings, with distribution certification. For the highest-performance rated filters, see our spherical bronze grade in Category 12.

Is pre-alloyed bronze export-controlled?

No. Bronze PM powders ship without restrictions.
